A Nautical Summer Micro Wedding on the USS Wisconsin Battleship – Norfolk, VA

The Nauticus Museum & USS Wisconsin | Norfolk, Virginia | August 31, 2023

Natalie & Erich had their destination micro wedding aboard the USS Wisconsin that is docked at the Nauticus Museum in Norfolk, Virginia. Natalie & Erich are from Wisconsin! They traveled here specifically to be married on the battleship. Erich’s late father was in the Navy and served on a battleship. He felt like it was a nice tribute and a way to feel like his father was with him on his most important day.

There was a hurricane that had blown through and we were still getting run off storms and wind the day of the wedding. Moving the ceremony and reception indoors, they got married INSIDE the battleship Ward Room and partied on the 3rd floor of the the museum for the reception. Since this was a destination for them and their loved ones, they held an intimate wedding, where everybody knew everybody by the end of the night if they didn’t know each other already.

Natalie and her dad shared a tear filled first look that was so sweet and pure. Natalie and Erich shared their first communion as Mr & Mrs and tied a 3 stranded chord cross, a tradition in Natalies family. The best man, maid of honor and Natalie’s dad made speeches and toasts to the couple before the evenings activities continued. The food and the cake were absolutely delicious and the DJ really got everyone up and dancing the entire night, including ME! You might see me pop up in the reception pictures. 😉

They are about to celebrate their wedding back home in Wisconsin THIS SATURDAY October 14! Congratulations to Natalie & Erich again on tying the knot. I loved SOOOO many of these it was hard to pick which to share with all of you. There was so much emotion throughout this day, it is definitely one for the books!
