How in the world is this girl 3 going on 13? She turned 3 this past December, we threw her a very fun birthday party and I have included photos from her party in this blog also.

We finally had a warm enough day to head to the beach to take these. We haven’t been as outdoorsy and adventurous this winter as we were last year. The winter was a little harsher this year. But that didn’t stop her from learning and excelling so much! Aside from overnight, she is potty trained! She loves to help us cook, clean and care for all the animals. We gave her a hamster for Christmas and she is so attentive and loves showering Mr. Hamster with love (sometimes a little too much love). She has been very responsible making sure he gets to run around in his ball to get exercise and asks for help getting him out and putting him away.

She has come leaps and bounds in her communication skills, sentence length, and her emotional and physical bodily awareness, like “Im frustrated!”, “I’m not hungry right now.”, and “I need to take a little rest in the car before we go to the store”. She can say difficult dinosaur names like, Parasaurolophus and Pachycephalosaurus EASILY like they are the words “Cat and Dog”. She recently asked me for purple hair again, and this time she also wanted pink. The color was just done the same day as the photos so its so vibrant, but it also has faded so pretty now. She is so independent and strong willed and I hope that never dulls. She is also HILARIOUS, she’s got quick wit and great comedic timing just like her dad, causing ruckus laughter at anytime.

She’s played in the snow before, but she was so little she doesn’t remember. But, she had SO MUCH fun last month when she stayed with my parents for a weekend in Northern VA and it snowed the whole time. She had so many hills to sled on, got to make snow angles and a snow man with her Mimi and ‘Pa! I can’t believe how grown up she is, it was yesterday that I did Part 1…..

with Special Guest – OBX Lizard Land

Arielle has always been an animal lover and a dinosaur lover, and recently she became interested in the common denominator between the two….REPTILES. We had the idea to do something with animals for her birthday, tossing around the idea of having her party at the Zoo or the Aquarium. But, one day Michael said – “What about a reptile show that came to us?” and I honestly LOVED the idea. After a little bit of searching Michael found OBX Lizard Land. They were available and they said they could make it to VA Beach!

Arielle had her friends and family attend her birthday party. She wanted PAW Patrol themed decorations and a chocolate cake with strawberry icing made by mommy (awwhh), and that’s exactly what she got. Paul from OBX Lizard Land was extremely engaging, entertaining, and very patient with all the overly excited kiddos wanting to touch all the reptile friends. After the party, Arielle had told us she wanted a pet snake. Well, we rent right now and no reptiles are allowed reside here so we settled on a hamster (as you read above). The kids enjoyed the reptile show, food, cake and fun party games like a piñata and pin the tail on the donkey. She still asks when the reptiles are going to come back to visit again because she wants to hold Tootsie again (one of the snakes). Enjoy some of the photos from her party!
