Old House Vineyards and Brewery | Culpeper, Virginia | July 16, 2020
Erin and Frederick had a very small, intimate, non traditional wedding on a Thursday evening in July. They were surrounded by their daughter, Layla, and their immediate family. The lighting was absolutely PHENOMENAL, truly a photographers dream. In Virginia July had record breaking heat – 28 days of 90 degree heat in a row. But we lucked out that the humidity was not horrible and we had a little bit of a breeze to keep us cool. This was also the first wedding I got to photograph PREGNANT!
Their family was so sweet and welcoming. Their daughter Layla greeted me with a big hug around my leg. Layla has special needs and she was so fun to photograph because her smile could light up a room! She was such a great Flower Girl too. Erin was SUCH a beautiful bride. She was completely GLOWING with bliss and happiness from the moment I saw her til the moment I left. Frederick looked very dapper in his purple bow tie.
The ceremony was short and sweet. Old House Vineyards has a tradition to lock an engraved lock on their dock and you throw the keys in the large pond they have. I think that is SUCH a fun and unique tradition.
So this is probably my new favorite wedding – I know I say that every time I have a wedding… but YALL THE LIGHTTTTT!!! It was really hard to pick favorites….so there is a lot here. Enjoy all the warm golden hour light.
