Manassas Park, Virginia | June 6th 2017
Back in February Michael & I (sadly) packed up our apartment in Virginia Beach and moved back up to Northern Virginia (NOVA). We had many factors into us moving back home, but the biggest one was family. Within both of our families theirs upcoming weddings, new babies and unfortunately health problems. But most of all we just missed everyone and coming up every other weekend was just becoming too hard. We have always dreamed of living in Virginia Beach so, we will definitely be back in the 757 in a few years.
Our original plan was to stay with my parents and save money to buy a house – and we were SO CLOSE to closing on a little blue lake house down in Stafford, VA. But things were just SO STRESSFUL. Our closing date kept moving, our Lender was actually pretty sketchy (looking back…there were so many red flags looking back on it), and every time we went back to see the place I kept having second thoughts because it was missing a lot of the MUST HAVES on our list. I also know with the size of it, in a year we would outgrow it in a year. We backed out if buying the house. HUGE thank you to my parents for letting us stay with them and invade their space (and for helping us secretly move)!!!
After Michael & I came home from our anniversary we decided that it was time for us to get our own place. So we looked at apartments, condos and town homes. We SWORE up & down after the catastrophe in VA Beach with that apartment, that we weren’t going to rent an apartment again. But we found an apartment that we really loved so we went to go see it Saturday May 27th. We liked what we saw so Sunday we went back and applied and got approved. Tuesday June 6th we got the keys and signed our lease. We started bringing boxes throughout the week and then moved all the big stuff over the weekend. Our apartment is BRAND NEW and (believe it or not) 200 sq ft BIGGER than the house we were going to buy. It’s an open concept, 2 bed, 2 bath, with a large deck, big gorgeous kitchen & walk in closets!!! We have been keeping this news quiet for a while because we wanted to surprise everyone!!!
Its not all set up yet so I am not going to do any pictures with our stuff. BUT once its all set up, expect Before & Afters!! I only have a few really crappy phone photos – but, here is (some of) our place empty:

This is the hallway to the guest room/ office, the guest bathroom, linen closet & laundry room. and the (VERY CROOKED) walk in closet in the guest room….the one in the master is EVEN BIGGER!
